Housing Options

If you plan to attend the US Social Forum after the Assembly, please make your housing arrangements now.  Over 15,000 people are attending the Social Forum, and housing is filling up fast!  All housing options below allow Assembly participants to stay on through the US Social Forum.

The Towers at Wayne State

The Allied Media Conference (AMC) invites participants in the 2010 US Assembly of Jews Confronting Racism and Israeli Apartheid to reserve housing in the Wayne State University Towers Residence Hall during the dates of the Assembly (June 19-22) and the U.S. Social Forum (June 22-27).

Rooms in the Towers Residence Hall are suite style, containing four one-person bedrooms attached to a shared living space with a sitting area and attached bathroom. Linens provided with each room include: 1 Blanket; 1 Pillow; 1 Sheet set; 1 Bath towel; 1 Washcloth. The cost is $45 per person / per night.

Registration for this housing closes May 31, 2010 and housing reservations are non-refundable after this date. The supply of available beds is limited and demand is high, so we recommend that you reserve your housing as early as possible.

Hotel St Regis

1 mile from Assembly venue

Rooms at the Hotel St. Regis cost $69/double room/night, or $109.00/night for a suite.

Participants should make their own reservations by June 6.    After June 6, rooms not reserved will be released from the Assembly’s room block and the Hotel may rent those rooms to others.  The Hotel will continue accepting reservations after June 6 at the prevailing group rate, subject to availability.

When making your reservations, tell them that you want to use the  “2010 Assembly Group Rate”.

College for Creative Design

Housing at the College costs $25/person/night. Participants will need to bring their own bedding and towels. Housing is suite style—suites have living rooms, dining rooms, bathrooms, and kitchens in the rooms. Participants are welcome to bring items to use in the kitchens as well, as they do not come stocked. Rooms need to be cleaned by participants and left as was found. Absolutely no substance use allowed.

Participants may stay at the College through the US Social Forum (June 22-27) and may also reserve a bed for the nights of June 17 and 18, should you need to arrive before the Assembly.

Housing at the College for Creative Design will be coordinated by the Assembly—indicate on your registration form that you are interested in staying at the College, and an organizer will follow up with you with a payment form.

First Unitarian Universalist Church

$5/person/night crash spot (sleeping on floor)

Housing at the First Unitarian Universalist Church costs $5/person/night for a crash spot (sleeping on floor). Participants will need to be out of the space by 10am each day and will be able to get back in at 7pm.  There is no smoking, drugs or alcohol allowed on the premises.  There will be limited space in a refrigerator available and limited access to a stove.  There are no shower facilities at the Church.

Participants may stay at the Church through the US Social Forum (June 22-27).

Housing at the church will be coordinated by the Assembly—indicate on your registration form that you are interested in housing there, and an organizer will follow up with you with a payment form.
